BEDSPREADS AND THROWS

A bedspread can go under many different names: bed throw, patchwork quilt, eiderdown, patchwork bedspread, quilted bedspread, quilt, counterpane, etc.

Our bedspreads are designed to cover the whole bed, top to bottom and side to side. Our bedspreads are not fitted; they simply lay over everything else on the bed. Traditionally sheets and blankets were used with a bedspread and still are. However, today people tend to use a bedspread with a duvet underneath.

Bedspread sizes correspond to the bed size: Single bed, Double bed, King size and Super King size. If a bed has a foot at the bottom the bedspread can simply be tucked in or turned back at the top. The height of the mattress and base varies from bed to bed. The best way to make sure a bedspread fits as you want it to be is to measure from the floor on one side of the bed to the floor on the other side of the bed. Some high beds may require a King size bedspread for example on a double bed.
