Bed sizes can vary in length, width and depth, including depth of mattress. Some have a head, foot or both, which must be taken into consideration. Even if your bed has been made to measure, however, we should be able to supply you with linen to fit. Use our guide below to find the correct size linen for your bed.

 

SIZE CHART

2FT 6 INCH BED / SMALL SINGLE / BUNK BED

A 2ft 6 inch bed is also known as a small single bed, due to its width of 30 inches (76cm). Bunk beds usually have a 2ft 6 inch mattress. The standard length of a small single bed is 6ft 3 inch (191cm).

The products we stock specifically designed for 2ft 6 inch beds are as follows.

All our 2’ 6” bed fitted sheets have different depths, basically the depth of the mattress. Just simply measure the depth of your mattress and establish which size you need.

If you require a valance for your 2ft 6 inch bed we have 2ft 6 inch box pleated platform base valance available which goes under your mattress and down to the floor.

All our valances have a pleat drop of 41cm (16") this is the distance from the bottom of the mattress down to the floor or the base.

Single bed duvets, duvet covers and bedspreads are usually the best size bed linen to use on a 2’ 6” bed. They will be slightly oversized, but by using the measurements in the Single section you can determine if they are suitable.

SINGLE BED / 3FT BED

A Single bed is also known as a 3 foot bed, due to its width of 36 inches (91cm). Two single beds are sometimes put side by side to make a Super King size bed. The standard length of a Single bed is 6ft 3 inch (191cm).

The products we stock specifically designed for 3ft beds are as follows.

The height of a Single bed mattress and base varies from bed to bed. The best way to make sure a bedspread will fit as you want it to is to measure from the floor on one side of your Single bed to the floor on the other side of the bed.

All our Single bed fitted sheets have different depths, basically the depth of the mattress. Just simply measure the depth of your mattress and establish which size you need.

Before choosing a duvet or duvet cover it is always best to measure the width and length of your existing duvet or duvet cover. A single duvet should measure 137 wide x 198cm long (54 x 78")

If you require a valance for your Single bed we have two different types available. A box pleated FITTED valance goes right over your mattress and down to the floor and a box pleated PLATFORM valance goes under your mattress and down to the floor.

All of our Single bed valances have a pleat drop of 41cm (16") this is the distance from the bottom of the mattress down to the floor or the base of the bed. A FITTED valance has an extra 18cm (7") to allow for the mattress.

EXTRA LONG SINGLE BED / IKEA SINGLE BED SIZE

An extra long single bed or Ikea single bed measures 90cm wide x 200cm long (36 x 78") 3ft wide by 6ft 6 inch long. Not only is this the size of IKEA single mattresses and beds, it is generally the size of Single electric beds. Also when two Single beds are zipped and linked together to make a Super King size bed, the Singles are usually extra long Singles 6ft 6" long.

Ikea bed linen sizing can be confusing as the Ikea bedding sizes vary from UK standard sizes, but we try to provide options for all UK and European bed sizes.

The products we stock specifically designed for 3ft beds are as follows.

If you require other bed linen products for your extra long Single beds it is usually best to use standard Single bed size bedding. Standard Single bed duvets, duvet covers and flat sheets will give you alot more options than trying to source extra long Single Bed duvets, etc.

4FT BED / THREE QUARTER BED / SMALL DOUBLE BED

A 4ft bed is also known as a Three Quarter (3/4) bed or a small double bed. Its width generally measures 122cm (48"). The standard length of a small double bed is 6ft 3 inch (191cm).

The products we stock specifically designed for these beds are as follows.

All our Small Double bed fitted sheets have different depths, basically the depth of the mattress. Just simply measure the depth of the mattress and establish which size you need.

If you require a valance for your 4ft bed we have the 4ft box pleated platform base valance available. A box pleated platform valance goes under your mattress and down to the floor.

All our 4ft valances have a pleat drop of 41cm (16"), this is the distance from the bottom of the mattress down to the floor or the base of the bed.

Double bed size duvets, duvet covers and bedspreads are usually the best size bed linen to use. They will be slightly oversized, but by using the measurements in the Double section you can determine if they are suitable.

DOUBLE BED / 4FT 6 INCH BED

A double bed is also known as a 4ft 6 inch bed, due to its width of 54 inches (137cm). The standard length of a Double bed is 6ft 3 inch (191cm).

The products we stock specifically designed for 4ft 6” beds are as follows.

The height of the mattress and base varies from bed to bed. The best way to make sure a bedspread will fit as you want it to, is to measure from the floor on one side of the bed to the floor on the other side of the bed

All our Double bed fitted sheets have different depths, basically the depth of the mattress. Just simply measure the depth of your mattress and establish which size you need.

Before choosing a double duvet or duvet cover it is always best to measure the width and lengh of your existing duvet or duvet cover. A Double duvet should measure 200 wide x 200cm long (78 x 78").

If you require a valance for your Double bed we have two different styles available. A box pleated FITTED valance goes right over your mattress and down to the floor and a box pleated PLATFORM valance goes under your mattress and down to the floor.

All our valances have a pleat drop of 41cm (16") this is the distance from the bottom of the mattress down to the floor or the base. A FITTED valance has an extra 18cm (7") to allow for the mattress.

KING SIZE BED / 5FT BED

A King size is also known as a 5 foot bed, due to its width of 60 inches (153cm). The standard length of a King size bed is 6ft 6 inch (200cm).

In countries such as Australia and America this size of bed is sometimes referred to as a Queen.

The products we stock specifically designed for 5ft beds are as follows.

The height of a King mattress and base varies from bed to bed. The best way to make sure a bedspread will fit as you want it to is to measure from the floor on one side of the bed to the floor on the other side of the bed.

All of our king size fitted sheets have different depths, basically the depth of the mattress. Just simply measure the depth of your mattress and establish which size you need.

Before choosing a King size duvet or duvet cover it is always best to measure the width and length of your existing duvet. A king size duvet should measure 229 wide x 218cm long (90 x 86").

If you require a valance for your King Size bed we have two different types available. A box pleated FITTED valance goes right over your mattress and down to the floor and a box pleated PLATFORM valance goes under your mattress and down to the floor.

SUPER KING SIZE BED / 6FT WIDE BED

A Super King is also known as a 6 foot bed, due to its width 72 inches (183cm). The standard length of a Super King size bed is 6ft 6 inch (200cm).

In countries such as Australia and America this size of bed is sometimes referred to as a King, but the standard UK King is 5 feet wide.

In the UK two 3ft wide single beds are sometimes put side by side to make a Super King bed.

Before choosing a Super King duvet or duvet cover it is always best to measure the width and length of your existing duvet. A Super King duvet or duvet cover should measure 260 wide x 220cm long (102 x 86").

If you require a valance for your 6ft bed we have the 6ft box pleated platform base valance available which goes under your mattress and down to the floor.

All our 6ft valances have a pleat drop of 41cm (16") this is the distance from the bottom of the mattress down to the floor or the base of the bed.
